Both not great films, but the sequel actually comes through.

To an extent anyway Exorcism movies always intrigue me. I am always looking for a movie to give me the same kind of creeps and shake my faith a little like The Exorcist. The first Last Exorcism, to me, was actually pretty decent. A good movie, nowhere near great. But a few things definitely stuck out for me as to whether she was really possessed or not. Cotton kept looking for signs as to whether or not she was just a mentally ill girl or if she was simply faking it. And since some of Nell's behavior was definitely her own in the first film, I almost think it was a foreshadowing of her decision at the end of the 2nd. Part 2 definitely failed to set the mood it was going for, but I give them credit for trying. Texas Chainsaw 3D is still the worst theatrical horror film of the last few years. I give this a C-.
