Directors ruined it.

I really loved the first one and it made me a big fan desperately wanting to see more after that ending. This sequel had everything going for it and they completely ripped it apart to just another dumb movie. What I really hated was her brother (Who Survived) did not return neither did they even explain why he did what he did at the end of the first one. The directors have a really awesome actor in Ashley Bell and I think they wasted her talent as well as her brother in the first one who I thought was pretty good also. Another big set back was switching to the "Normal Style" movie and not the found footage first person style which I thought worked very well with this kind of film. All they said was there was a fire when you can completely tell people were murdered there and other things went on when you come to investigate the land and house which makes it dumb. IMO that is how I feel the movie should have started with police and investigators arriving to the horrible scene and then discovers Nell and takes her away. Then later at some point the demon lures her back home makes her apart of this cult of possessed people and then uses the first person camera style to brutally murder others after finally giving in. Another ending could have ended in a suicide while videotaping herself as there is no escape from this demon.

They explained it in the movie - everyone died in the fire except for Nell.

And i think it would be really stretching it to have another documentary crew following Nell again just to have the "found footage" look of the film.

I think it fits perfectly that the found footage from the first movie is used - sparingly and wisely - in the normal movie format of the sequel.

The director is the one who actually gave the film a little flair. The script would be the source of your main concerns.
