Loved it.

everyone posting negatively is a moron. that will be all.

I agree. People just don't have a brain for story anymore. God forbid you have to actually have an attention span to enjoy something.

You've got the touch! You've got the power!

If I had a nickel for every time I posted the same views about people's negative reactions towards horror films that are more than mindless jump scares...

If all you can do is tell those with dissenting opinions that they are morons rather than explaining what you liked about the movie, it doesn't very well support your side of the argument very well.

I liked this film a lot. I literally went into the film expecting almost nothing, given the horrendous reviews and the tepid first film.
I had simply wanted to see what direction they took the story of Nell.

I was very pleasantly surprised! The ending is chilling, yes a bit cartoonish in its presentation, but terrifying in its implications.
Note: Are they setting it up for a Part III? What happened to the baby from the first film?
Was it a demon baby that was sacrificed? Or are we to assume that the baby wasn't actually a baby at all, but a 'freeing' of the demon?

"Penfold, shush."

Yeah, overall, I liked this one. Was it particularly fast-paced? No. I knew it wasn't going to be a hit, but I didn't think it would be as disliked as it is. Was it scary? No. It had a few moments that made me tense, but overall, I just viewed it as a character study of Nell, and seeing her get to experience the world and being tempted made me enjoy it more than if I had gone into it expecting something really creepy or unnerving. It had some creepy moments, and some truly fantastic shots of New Orleans. I'd watch it again.

Agree with everything fiatlux-1 said. This film was surprisingly well done and I was into it (it was a little slow though), but I thought the ending was overdone and wanted to know what happened to the demon baby. So yeah. What he said.

"Stwike him, Centuwion ... vewy Wuffwy!"

I think the demon baby was some kinda manifestation of Abalam he was supposed to set the world on fire but Cotton interrupted the entire thing. Overall I think that it was pretty good.

I only had a few questions and dislikes about it. My questions mostly originated from the first movie like was her brother in the cult, did her dad actually die (i think he did and was coming back as a ghost to kill her) and the blonde chick was she evil or not or just like demented. My dislikes for it are mostly centered on the ending but I like the ending as well. The first and only one really is why did she just start burning the entire town while driving away.

What I really liked about this entire movie is how they showed Nell might not be the sweet little girl that we assumed she was from the little we saw of her in the first part. I know that Abalam might have been lying but I think that it was telling the truth when it said that Nell and he/she/it/them are meant to be together. She really seemed like a trouble child to me. The type of girl that is willing to do anything through out the entire movie.

The only other question I have is when she slept did Abalam have control or was she actually do all of that?
