To Capture an Audience

This is really not just about this film but this is the film I'm choosing to place this little paragraph on.

It's quite apparent, after seeing the trailer and then the movie itself, that just like with anything else people are trying to sell you, they care much more about hooking your interest than delivering quality goods. So just take almost all commercials we see on a daily basis. Let's take McDonalds as a for instance. You see their product in all it's fluffed up, freshest glory and when you go and order you receive this smashed, deflated thing they call a hamburger. Of course we all have come to accept this as just how McDonalds is but it's not just McDonalds. It's everywhere in society. They sell you the flare and once you pay, who cares if it delivers or not, they have your money. Same goes for Hollywood. They sell you on these previews that REALLY hook you bad. It's like this starburst of excitement that gets stored inside your brain and you make a footnote not to miss this movie or that movie because on the big screen it's just going to be so much better(Redbox does solve a lot of the wasteful spending). But many times it comes out deflated and all washed up just like the McDonalds hamburger. The point of this is, they know it will be deflated and washed up. Not due to everyone having different tastes but because they have mastered the art of making any movie look crazy awesome in a 1 minute trailer. And, on some grander scale, that's fraud and should be treated as such.

Although, if one thinks they'll watch a good movie when it has the stupidest title in the world, then it's their fault.
