A Diarrhea Dump on a good story.

For those who saw Part 1, the true fear stemmed from the religion cracking father, and the pure amount of crazy coming from the cultists. It was almost like a movie about the sheer terror that can come from overly zealous belief, and cults in general. It had a very real feeling, treating it as a could be possession, could be mental illness. Basically, it gave a feeling of humanity and reality to a genre dominated girls with spinning heads that vomit pea soup.

Fast forward to this crap fest. While it builds the same general atmosphere and feel, the ending gives a definite answer... and completely destroys the original point of the story that the first movie had. Nevermind the fact that they KILL HER with morphine. There was NO WAY she could have come back, much less reach out like that. SHE DIED. HER BODY STOPPED FUNCTIONING. It even JUSTIFIED the sheer batcrap crazyness of the father from the first one.

I'm livid. I really am. I hate seeing such a good story ruined... and to see psychopathic zealots that scream hell and damnation justified. Much less the fact that God and all his followers seem to be about as limp in the power department as every other possession movie out there.

If you're going to use the lore/religion, at LEAST try to do it where the forces of Good and Evil feel balanced! You've got the Devil as the ALMIGHTY EVIL THAT CAN NEVER LOSE and God ends up looking like a frelling peon. EVERY possession movie does this, and it quite frankly is STUPID, since there's no way to defeat these demons any other way!

You did know you were watching a horror movie, right? Obviously they were going to focus on the Evil side instead is good.
