I don't remember any of those guys including Nell's brother dying. The first one ends with the cult members murdering Cotton's crew.
So no followup on those people in the second one?
They were all killed. It was mentioned that Nell was the only survivor.

shareIt doesn't go into any detail. My take is that when Cotton comes out of the field, as detailed in the drawing they found back at Nell's house, his interruption of their ceremony was enough to piss off Abalom enough that it destroyed everyone.
shareits mentioned in this movie they all died in a fire. makes sense with the way this movie ends. its the demon's modus operandi it seems....get someone to bring him back and then he burns them all.

Like every other cool plot point in the original, this steaming pile of movie threw them out and forgot about them, along with Cotton, the demon baby, and everything else that made the first one compelling.
