What did Liam Neeson see in the phone video clip?

I only saw this movie once (and I was quite sleepy at that time!) but I didn't quite get what exactly did Neeson see in that phone video clip that made him realize who the real villain was. Could someone please explain that? Thanks.

When Liam Neeson watched the video clip, he saw the moment when he had Tom Bowens (the guy who lied about going to Amsterdam) in custody and was trying to identify the "person" who paid him 100 dollars to lie to Liam. As they were walking around Tom "slipped" and leaned into the soon to be dead passenger who was in possession of the phone. Essentially he saw Tom basically slip the phone into his inside pocket and also poison him at the same time.
