Always thought it would have worked better in a pre internet period.

I liked the show but the idea that the Police just accept that he is the new Sheriff? No ID checks, no checking someone on the police records? Not even a facebook check?

Just seemed to suit a pre internet period better especially as it could be a little old school gritty at times.

Did he walk into the town already set with that? And that identity didn't match the face of the dead sheriff they were expecting.
