This doc *beep* me up for life..

I'm so shaken right now. I've never had a documentary do this to me. It's so heartbreaking and hard to wrap your head around. Why did this even happen? I've tried to find a reason Diane wasn't responsible for this, but she was. No matter how you look at it, she drank the vodka and smoked the pot and drove 5 kids down the freeway the wrong way. I personally think she was in pain from her tooth, drank and smoked to dull the pain, didn't drink often, so the booze hit her way harder than she anticipated. She wasn't suicidal or mean to kill 8 innocent people and herself, but she DID! So disturbing and sad! This one will stay with me forever. ?

I hate to say this to you, because you seem like a nice person but just because a documentary showed her husband in denial, you can't ignore scientific facts. Also, her husband has a DUI, lied about her drinking, lied about the pot, got found out, then changed his story. She was an alcoholic, maybe in the first few years of the disease but still she had a problem. I learned at the age of 12 not to drink and drive. At 36, she didn't know driving little children after drinking was a spectacularly bad idea?Come on.
Don't let the husband fool you. He has words, that's all. Tooth pain hurts, but I've never heard of it leading to the deaths of 8 people. She should have thrown the kids out on the side of the road and killed herself if the pain was so bad.

Exactly. I have a hard time wrapping my head around this. Why would she kill the kids? It was 100% premeditated too. She was coherent enough to stop and vomit twice and had a conversation with her brother on the phone. Then, she left the phone on the interstate, intact. These are not the actions of someone who doesn't have control. Also, the husband is still in a lawsuit with his brother in law (the father of the three children that were killed). So, that speaks to the kind of character he is. Disgusting.
