Season 3 and Netflix

Just got off chat with Netflix today. There is no word on an estimated time of arrival for season 3. They were very vague when I asked. They stated they are very much customer feedback driven when it comes to content, but offered no real assurances this series would conclude and become available.
I would opt to buy it completely on DVD if it was sold with English subtitles... but its not...
So for now, I remain frustrated. You Tube no longer offers any of the season 3 episodes (subtitled or not) due to copyright infringement.
I would purchase a subscription to watchseries.it/season-3/gran_Hotel if I knew it was subtitled... but its just not worth it without knowing what they are saying...

guess I will spend my "waiting time" trying to learn Spanish ;-) *sigh*

I've been re-watching season 3 on youtube by using Hola on chrome to pretend I'm in France...

Thank you for getting in touch with Netflix. We all have to just keep doing it although I tried a second time, and they told me they had already noted my request from before. But I hope everyone who loves this show will get in touch with them. I don't know why they keep having these series and leaving people hanging in the middle. It's really irritating. They actually took Little Men out of their lineup when I was only halfway through it. Ack!!! And I watched Longmire, and the third season hasn't been put up either. They left us hanging pretty good at the end of the second season of that one, too. Now I find I've been watching Velvet, created by the same guy who did Gran Hotel and with several of the same actors, too, and they only have the first season, so I'm sure we'll get left hanging with that one as well.

BTW, if you want to learn Spanish, you can start with Duolingo.com. I have one lesson to go and I'm finished with all the basics, but I still have a ways to go before I'm fluent. I certainly can't understand the Spanish on Gran Hotel except for a little of it when sentences are short or when some of the older people speak. Ever notice the older actors speak slower than the younger ones do? Anyway, I know more than when I started, but I couldn't watch the show without the subtitles either. Are the folks in Spain just trying to torture us Americans or what?

Velvet is great! I watched all of season 1 on netflix and manage to find season 2 online (no subtitles). It's not over yet though and the show has just been renewed for a third season. The actress who plays Alicia is in Velvet and is SO different I only recognized her by her voice! Different hair, make up, and very different personality!

Gran Hotel is a great way to learn Spanish since it is fairly standard Spanish, without any slangs. Most of the actors enunciate very well too.

I recognized Amaia Salamanca almost immediately, but mainly because I had been keeping my eye out for anyone from the cast of Gran Hotel. I heard she actually has had a baby since Gran Hotel, and I was wondering if her pregnancy was for real. But I had to do a double take, too, and wasn't sure it was her until I heard her speak, when I recognized her voice. She sure did look different!

The Spanish is even clearer in Velvet, for the most part. When they get excited and start talking a mile a minute, it's almost impossible to pick out anything they're saying, at least for me.

I liked the ending of Velvet's first season. Did you notice the nod to the wedding on Gran Hotel when Alberto hesitated before saying, Sí. Quiero ? I've been trying to learn Spanish since July, but I can't say I'm there yet, and I doubt I'd understand what's really going on without the subtitles, so I guess I'll just have to wait. At least they didn't leave us with a hideous cliffhanger like Gran Hotel did at the end of their second season!
