Wow, according to what I read, it was only the external shots that were filmed there. They really built sets that looked like all those rooms and stuff? Amazing. I wonder where all that was. In Madrid somewhere, I suppose. But a lot of those scenes really looked like someone was entering or leaving the hotel itself from the outside with views of the grounds from the inside. Whatever they did, it was a great job. They could have fooled me if those inside shots weren't right there at the palace.

Well, I have to say I'm impressed. I've watched this show through ten times now (trying to use it to learn Spanish), and it always looked exactly like they were going into the Hotel and the interiors were right in there, too. Someone did a whole lot of building, seems to me, with all those stairs and rooms and everything.
