Yesterday I finished watching the series finale. Too bad it ended because it was a darn gooooood addicting show! I couldn't stop watching or thinking about it. But this is what happens in the last season in case you haven't seen it and want to know about it. I saw this season in youtube. I only found it in spanish. I hope they release it in Netflix so everybody can finish watching. Didn't even know there was a season 3. Netflix carries only 1 n 2. I was soooo darn mad when second season was over because I thought that was the end! But no! Yay!

***WARNING SPOILERS!!!!!*****

After the bomb, they kidnapped Alicia. Julio, Ayala and Maite looked for her. They soon let her go and took her back to the hotel hypnotized to kill Diego. After a while they discover that Alicia's captures were in a scheming plot to kill "Andres Vera Celande" aka Diego Murrquia all organized by Jesus the new Maitre which was Martha's lover. Martha was Diego's exwife which he had killed. Jesus the maitre wanted revenge on her death. Andres got drunk in the night of a party and beat the crap of Belen when she made his girlfriend run away after Catalina got a misscarriage from the results of the bomb. He then woke up with blood on him. Everyone thought he killed Belen and they "executed" him for her death. (I cried like a baby in this episode!!) after alot of planning of Ayala, the dead Andres wakes up from death when the very alive Beleb goes crying for her husbands dearh only to find out she had pinned it on him with Bazares. Of course that gold digger just wanted his money. At the end Andres left his $ to his mom n nothing for Belen. Belen then leaves to find Bazares when he was blackmailing them and went to pay him only to realize they were just waiting for her to confess. She confesses infront of Ayala, Hernandez, Bazares and the heart broken Andres and instead of going to jail she preferred dying and jumped pff the cliff without even remembering she still had a child even if not with her care! So goodbye Belen! Oooh Soofia! Wow Sofia! She has an affaire!!! Yes and guess with whom!!! :O With the Father of her church!!! INSIDE the church!!!!!! :O :O her husband and his mom find out and he planned to leave her and made her leave the hotel only to make her come back forgiving her betrayal! What! A! Scandal!!! Angela leaves her governess job and now lives upstaira like a "lady" only to go back downstairs and help out, still loving her job and the hotel. They find that lady that Teresa sent to kill but they never get to pin it on her and take her to jail like Sofia with the 2 people she killed. No justice for them. Javier was saved due to his dads flask. Goes back to the hotel n falls in Love with the nurse. His mom doesn't approve of their love because shes a nurse and then realizes she's $ loaded and accepts their marriage. Soon "ratoncito" (mouse-Javier) realizes she has mental issues and haha she talks and plays with Simonetta her doll and acts like if it's her child. He tried sending her to a mental institution....Back to Alicia n Diego n Julio. Alicia finds out about the real Diego aka Andres Vera Celande. He rapes her after he told her he would kill her if she had a secret lover. She was too scared to say yes and aftee that she keeps hidden in her room. She confesses to Julio. He gets mad at her..Diego finds their hiding room and he then keeps her hidden from everybody lying to everyone that she left town due to Andres' death (before they knew he was just acting) and he kept her under some mine under the hotel locked up like a prisoner. Julio and Maite look for her. (Maite falls in love with Diego!! He kind of likes her but he looves Alicia so he doesn't fall for her or anything. Maite is Alicia's friend.) when they find Alicia underneath Diego keeps asking who her lover is and when he tried killing Maite because he saw in the distance a guy with her, and when he's about to kill her, Julio comes out and says "I'm Alicia's lover you coward!" :O the shock on his face! Yay! Diego tries killing him. Julio is shot!! Oh no!!! :'( Alicia escapes and gets the gun making Julio to go inside the mine cell locking him up!! After he's there, Jesus te maitre, takes his sister to his room and makes her wear Alicias clothes. When Alicia went looking for him to call a De she sees the women who kidnapped her. Julio after a while gets better. Jesus then sends the sister to kill Diego so that he can think it's Alicia. She lets him out and shots him and he thinks it was Alicia. He doesn't die because Ayala goes and they save him. They look for Alicia and she is now arrested for trying to commit murder. Diego goes back to the hotel looking for Julio to kill him and even tries bribing everyone to see who knows where he is. After a while the hotel gets infected with colera and alot of people are getting sick including Diego. After Ayala and the "crew" find out it wasn't Alicia who tried shooting him, she was let free. Jesus aka Adrian Solares(think that was his real name- I forgot. He was a rich man n he was like a scientist or someone u call that handles plants/ forgot) well he had an affaire with Doña Teresa!!! Yea! After she tried commiting suicide and jumping out the window. He saved her. They fell for each other. She finds out his plan about Diego. Jesus later when Ayala found out who he was, started searching for him. Jesus kidnaps Diego and took him to the beach and they had a moment and Diego tried killing hin with his gun without results. He was too weak because of the cholera. Jesus with a single bullet he kept for him after 12 years after grieving for Martha, shoots and kills Diego!!!! That was his end! I don't remember if Alicia ever finds out about Belen and his babies... Javier and his wife are getting a divorce and he drinks a glass of contaigious water with cholera and she tried saving him wich at the end was good for them because he didn't die or get sick and had alot of babies. 5 in total and also Simonnetta the doll. Jesus left a letter and Diegos old information so she can keep her hotel and told her she would be his next lover in another life and asked for forgiveness and told her he loved her. That made Alicia a free women to be with Julio. Andres marries in the end Maite, Alicia's friend. I thought he would be back with Catalina. Angela is the new Hotel Director because Alfredo leaves the hotel with their baby and Sofia to not risk the baby of getting Cholera. Aya and Hernandez are now recognized chiefs with metals of honor. Love that funny duo!! Made me laugh so much! Hernandez what a dumb funny detctive. :D Teresa and Angela now run the hotel. Julios sister, alicias dad, Alfredos wanna be girlfriend and Belen's dead friend neer get justice. They were never proven in the end. Don't know if Julios mom knows shes dead by this time. In the end, Julio n Alicia planned on leaving together. He said he would leave with or without her and when the time came, Alicia was hessitating becaise of Diego trying to make her guilty of leaving him alone dying (before he was kidnapped n shot). Julio waited an waited. He thought she didn't want to leave with him when Alicia suddenly fell to the floor. Thought she had cholera also! But no!! She was PREGNANT!! I hope from Julio since she was with him before Diego raped her... They never say!!! So she didn't find out about that because she took off before the dr told her. She looked for Julio and he was GONE!! :'( She was dvastated when Julio goes back to her and yay they kiss and leave together!! Phew! I thought he would leave without her! :'( They had a baby together and lived somewhere else other than the castle... The end!
That was it! :'( Wish it would be longer! I wonder if they become detectives or if they ever go back to the hotel. Oh amd Sofia and Alfredo live I think in Santander because Alfredo is now I think a governer. I forgot. Wonder if the family ever gets together. Javier and Andres still live in castle. Jesus now goes to Diego's grave and leaves him orchids. Don't know if it was because he comprehended him now n felt guilty that he has no point now. I don't know what happened the dr whi was held in a closet and I don't know if Alicia ever finds out about Diego's death or if Jesus ever goes back to teresa or if Ayala finds him.

I loooooved this show so much!! I finished in less than a week! I got tottally super obsessed with it! I even dream about it! Ceazy! Haha Wish they sold the dvds here in US. Now I wanna go to Spain to see the Palacio de Catalina!!

I think it's in the articles I've read online that it's strongly hinted that Alicia's son at the end is Julio's because of his appearance, but I think it's up for debate. The timing is confusing, because she slept with both of them during that time.

Yes, but before she slept with Diego again, Alicia went with Julio to the village to find out information about Belen - I found it kind of weird that she feels very sick after trying the cheap rum at the bar. Perhaps a clue that she was already pregnant then?

Absolutely. I thought of that, too. Of course, anytime a woman feels sick to her stomach (or faints) in TV melodramas, it usually means she's pregnant. 😜 I think she got pregnant their first time, and she and Diego hadn't been getting along for quite a while before that as well as afterwards. El niño pequeño looks so much like Julio, he's just adorable, isn't he?  It never occurred to me he might be Diego's. That just wouldn't do, cariño. 

Dang, that's a lot of writing! I don't know how you kept track of all that enough to write it. ¡Excellente! BTW, I worried over Andres a little, but I figured he'd get out of that execution because he was one of the show's stars, certainly a favorite around here, and he had already come back from the dead at least once. I just figured he would again, but I was much relieved when he did, of course.

Wow! You are truly dedicated. I admire that. I thought I was the only one who was this obsessed. A couple of corrections.. Maite fell in love with Julio, not Diego.. and both Julio and Diego slept with Alicia right before we found out she was pregnant. I think it is likely that a few weeks had passed from the time she slept with Diego, till the time she slept with Julio.. I know it seems like the timing is much less, but if you go with the condition of the hotel, it has to be weeks and not days since when the season started the hotel was in shambles. By the time the cholera sets in, the hotel is in perfect condition and has been running for weeks. So, I am going to say that the baby was Julios since it looked like him so much. Also, I read in the Show's official website that Julio and Alicia go away and live their life with their new baby. They wouldn't have worded it that way if that weren't the case. having said that, the writing and the timing annoys me.

I actually think that Maite was in love with Alicia.

She said that she fell in love with the wrong *person* and I don't think she would that emotional over someone she just met.

Watch again, and you'll see.

This of course means that Andres married yet another woman who will never fully love him. Andres is such a mama's boy, however, that he was just happy to have her in his life.

If Maite couldn't be with Alicia, at least she can still be connected to her. Sad life for a lesbian in 1900's.

I'm sad to understand that J and A moved away and didn't come back. Weren't they running away just to get away from Diego? I was looking forward to seeing the two waiters end up running the place.

I think the gesture of running away was to show that money didn't matter to either of them. But they already made that gesture twice.

Actually, I'm watching the third season right now, and it never occurred to me to think Maite was in love with anyone but Julio, at least until towards the end. This sounds even more far-fetched than some of the plot lines in the third season. LOL And I think she did fall in love with Andres and he with her. She was a breath of fresh air after OMG Belen. All I could think of was Andres finally caught a break.

I wish they'd continue this someday. I doubt it'll happen, but it would be great to see how things progressed for some of our favorite characters, and there were a few loose ends, too. I just discovered another series created by Ramon Campos though it was about eight years ago. It's on Hulu. I may watch that once I finish with El internado, which stars Yon Gonzalez and has more seasons than Grand Hotel.

Of course everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I definitely think Maite was in love with Julio.. there were a few scenes where she almost let it out of the bag.. one was when the two were in the kitchen and Julio was upset that Alicia was with Diego.. Maite tells Julio that she could be in Madrid but instead she's there.. He tells her to leave, and she says she is staying for Alicia and for him.. the pause before she says "por ti" is her realization that she loves him.. interesting theory though.. but ....

Ah. I think she had to stop herself in the kitchen rant to say 'por ti' instead of 'por yo' (and for me). She was trying to save Alicia from Diego, so Alicia could consider being with her. ???

Other people on the internet think that she was bi. That would be better Andres. She may have developed some feelings for Julio too.

She was just so crushed when she'd see them kiss. I don't think she would have been so devastated for a guy she just met.

She also said a line to Alicia, explaining that she just wanted her to be happy, and if it's with this guy, so be it.

This theory also came to mind when she couldn't take the kiss from Andres. Oh, and when the police were discussing 'two women together' regarding Diego's first wife's affair. Maite rolled her eyes when the Hernando was in shock of the idea. I actually think they planted the idea of lesbians, especially with Maite in the room for a reason.

Of course it could be interpreted anyway, but I personally prefer to think of her as having fallen in love with Julio.. After all, its not hard to imagine someone falling for him.. :-) She balked at the kiss with Andres because in those days such a kiss was quite aggressive.. but you notice that she gave him a kiss back after she decided it was ok.. and finally, as a close friend of Alicia's it's perfectly normal for her to want her friend to be happy. Wouldn't you want that? But what made me think she was in love with Julio was when the two of them were in her room after her encounter with Ezequiel. The sexual tension was palpable..

I really can't see Maitê being in love with Alicia at all. She was really taken by Julio, who was very different from the men she might have come into contact. I've watched season 3 many times and the director makes it very obvious - she can't stop staring at him, not just at him with Alicia. When Julio tells her that Alicia is angry with him because she is jealous of Maitê and says he keeps looking at her, you can see that Maitê really perks up and sort of asks "really? and do you?" to which he says "of course, you are not transparent." When she tells Andres that she fell in love with the wrong person, Andres looks at Julio and gives this very knowing "oh, I see". IT is very subtle, but it is there. Maite was taken by Julio but as she admits in the end, she did not think it was the most important thing for her, insinuating she could get over him.

I agree. I just saw that episode last night, too. I haven't seen any indication other than the rather masculine way she often dressed, which may have been an allusion to her profession as an attorney, to think Maite was anything but strung out over Julio, but as you said, he wasn't the most important thing, and after all was said and done, she did get over him.

I saw an interview with the producers and they explained that Maite's clothes were meant to illustrate that she was an independent woman, "ahead of her time" as they put it...

Yes, I figured that myself, especially given some of her early comments about what she was wearing. It certainly never occurred to me to think anything else. 😏
