So many dead people, Agent/Inspector Ayala and Hernando should move in permanently. What's the tally so far? Must be close to 100 specially after the bomb and cholera outbreak. Love this melodrama. Too bad it's done completely! Julio and Alicia have such great chemistry.
sharetheir chemistry is indeed amazing to watch. They communicate so much to each other with just one look. I've been watching Bajo Sospecha, a new Spanish series with Yon Gonzalez (the actor who plays Julio) and I found his chemistry with his female counterpart in the series not as great as with Amaia Salamanca. I remember when watching season 1 of Gran Hotel that when they finally kissed, half way through the season, it was a huge deal since the tension between the two was palpable! You could almost feel them shake every time they as much as brushed each other. Beautiful and subtle acting. I keep rewatching their scenes together.
shareI watched Bajo Sospecha too.. I am absolutely obsessed with Yon Gonzalez. I agree that in Bajo the chemistry with the female lead is essentially non-existent. But I don't care. I watched it for him.. and the story was interesting. Have you seen El Internado? If you want chemistry, watch that! He and Blanca Suarez, the female lead that he is paired with in El Internado have steaming hot chemistry.. you can watch it on Dailymotion with english subs. Though his role doesn't get meaty till season 4.. nevertheless the story line is excellent.. its a mystery, thriller, a bit supernatural and tons of romance..

shareI watched Bajo Sospecha on Antena 3's Atresmedia player http://www.atresplayer.com/ and no unfortunately it does not have English subtitles.. but it does have an option for Spanish subtitles which I used and was able to understand most of what was being said. I relied on Google translate quite a bit. :-) He's beautiful in it.. older looking and more rugged. With whiskers and long hair.

shareTotally agree with the chemistry between Julio and Alicia. They don't even have to be near each other and you can still see their attraction. I think that's why the scenes where they are affectionate with each other are so intense. I also gotta give the writers/directors credit too because it seems like they knew exactly how much screen time to give them and when so that it doesn't feel forced. They are definitely one of my favorite TV couples because their relationship was so believable.
shareThe actors playing Alicia and Julio actually had started their careers together as a couple in the show SMS, sin miedo a soñar. This is their second time being paired off, and I think that helped a lot.

shareThe show that Amaia and Yon were in before Grand Hotel is SMS.. In that show Yon is about 18 or 19 years old.. It's ok, but his role is not that extensive.. where he really excels is in El Internado with Blanca Suarez.. That show took place from 2007-2010 and in it you saw Yon's acting skills really shine through. His character is one of my all time favorite characters and the love story between his character Ivan and Blanca Suarez' character Julia is actually my favorite love story of all time. His role doesn't get meaty until season 4, but the overall plot for the show is excellent.. the other actors are also excellent. You will recognize Laura from Grand Hotel, and Don Benjamin. And the character who plays Sofia has a cameo role in the series as well in season 5. I highly recommend the series-- even the main characters are supposed to be teenagers (though the actual actors are in their 20s) the story lines are fabulous.
