No, it takes place from 1905 to 1907, so no Nazis, thank God. I also watched El internado, but after having seen Gran Hotel and Velvet, so I was quite surprised at how ridiculous it was. LOL Well, perhaps it was his first production, and since then he's gone on to make more reasonable storylines. Gran Hotel was my first Spanish series, and I was interested to see the actors I got to know so well in other projects, but I must say, I much prefered Yon Gonzalez as Julio than the character he played in El internado. And the ending of Gran Hotel was a heluvalot better than El internado's. So, enjoy! Ramon Campos has his points, there is a whole lot to love about Gran Hotel, and I wouldn't deprive myself of it because I'd had a bad experience with an earlier series.

"How was the war, sir?"
"As any war, ma'am, a waste of good men." (Poldark)
