question about escape scene
so the part he has her handcuffed to a tree, she gets away, he shoots her, she goes down, he shoot her again at point blank range. my question is; How is she still alive?! I am confused

The girl he killed in the film was a nameless victim that he murdered after raping Cindy. I guess it was mostly just to show what he actually does and for us as an audience to get our rocks off/slake our thirst.
As for the OP query - he let the girl go so he could hunt her, shot her once with the rifle then finished her off with the hand gun.
