Ideas for Wolf Creek 3
Great film, but I think WC3 can go one better.
It opens with two American sisters in the outback. They run into Mick and get chopped up into bits, and that's the opener done with.
Fast forward six months, and their millionaire father is still beside himself over their disappearance. He decides to hire a rag-tag squad of mercenaries to travel to the Australian outback to hunt them down.
The squad is made up Michael Biehn, Alec Baldwin, Richard Dean Anderson, Louis Gossett Jr and Steve Guttenberg. Upon arrival at Australia, they're apprehended by grizzled Ozzy cop Ray Meagher, who'll only let them go on one condition: he leads the mission to capture his nemesis, Mick.
Travelling to Wolf Creek Crater, they stop for a short while to do some sight-seeing, while Steve Guttenberg guards the vehicle. When they get back, they find him hollowed out and filled with sand. Mick knows they're after him, and this is his way of saying hello.....
I think more expansion of the 'Mick' character is in order. In WC2, his sense of humour really shone through, and I'd like to see more of his wisecracking and witty one-liners, just to give the character more depth.
I think they should also build on the location in WC2 and give Mick a bona fide underground base, filled with rooms and traps, sort of like 'The Cube' I guess. There's also the possibility they could introduce a twist to help justify Mick's actions. Perhaps he was mutated from nuclear bomb tests in the outback in the 1950s and needs to feed on human flesh to survive.
This would then present the heroes and the viewer with a moral dilemma about whether what Mick has been doing is actually wrong, or is he justified in trying to keep himself alive?
What does everyone else think?
