In films like this the protagonist gets the upper hand (Paul with hammer scene) and he/she only strikes once then try and run away (in this case hesitate to strike again) and it returns to as if they never had the upper hand. Strike until the plucker is dead and you won't have to run anymore...i know I know....then there would be no movie -_-

But he did try to strike again. He called Mick a b***h and then as he moved towards him, Mick jumped up with his knife.
I'm not defending the character, because he was the worst thing about the movie, but he was trying to hit him again. Generally though I agree. Don't stop until you can't swing anymore.
