No Reviews Yet?
I'm interested in the film, as I've always loved horror stuff and putting the film in this setting seems awesome! But, why no reviews yet? It opens tomorrow night... Makes me worried.

shareIt sucked hard.
shareUgh sorry to hear that...I just bought my ticket for tomorrow.
shareSad to hear it too, though I'll see it at some point and form my own conclusions. Reviews are slightly negative but mixed. For a horror film, that's enough of a win for me to see it at some point! (Note I rarely go to theaters.)
shareSame here, I’m going at 11:45 this morning so I’ll let you know what I think.
sharePlease do!
shareJust saw it and gotta say I really liked it. For a 2018 slasher film I found it above average. Had seemingly good procuction values for what I assume was a limited budget. Pretty good performances from an entirely unknown (at least to me) cast. And practical effects over CGI (god I hate CGI in slasher movies). The script wasn't perfect but better than the majority of low budget horror films and as the film progressed I found myself liking the characters a lot more than I was expecting to when they were first introduced.
It was a tight 89 minutes so didn't have time to drag and did a surprisingly good job of bulilding suspense at certain points. Based on one or two of the kills I suspect there was some gore left on the cutting room floor to make sure it stayed within the boundaries of an R rating so I wouldn't mind seeing an extended edition some day.
Overall I found it to be a fun horror movie that borrowed plenty from classics while having enough original content to be its own film. I say check it out and if you do let me know your thoughts!
Glad to hear you liked it! I'm hoping to see it one day, but I rarely go to theaters (will go for Halloween, but I rarely go unless something truly special comes along... at least as I judge it!). Also, I just seconds ago found out that my step-brother-in-law worked on the film and has his name buried in the credits, so even better!
shareOh that's cool about your step bro-in-law.
I hear you about the the theater. I'm the opposite and go about once a week so I see a lot of mediocre (and bad) movies since they all can't be winners lol. Fortunately I enjoy mediocre and bad movies so it's all good!
I wish I could go more, but it costs plenty, gotta work every day, and just don't always have time to get there. Plus, only special films get the theater treatment for me!
shareThe price of movies is insane really. I signed up recently for AMC's A List which has been awesome (since I go to AMC theaters most of the time anyway). It's $19.99 a month and you can see up to 3 movies a week, including IMAX, Dolby, 3D. Considering its $15 or so to see a single IMAX movie it was a no brainer for me. It helps that I don't have kids so I usually am able to find the time for on average 1 a week. I had stayed away from movie pass because their business model seemed unsustainable, which it's now showing it was.
shareNice! Sounds like a great deal. I am married, so harder to sneak off to a movie and while we definitely have overlap in our tastes in film, we also deviate quite a bit. Plus, frankly, even though I'm in denial that I am approaching middle age, my bladder has been tiny since I was tiny... sitting through a film in theater can get to be a bit rough!
shareMy expectations were on the lower end but the concept had me interested enough to want to (eventually) see it.
I actually liked it. One thing I liked a lot was that 99% of the movie takes place AT Hell Fest! I also didn't think I'd like any of the characters but several of them grew on me with time.
The movie kept my interest throughout.
It wasn't a masterpiece or anything but I enjoyed it.
Looks like they left it open for a Hell Fest II. It has potential so hopefully they'll be creative, not just a repeat of the original.
It otay but endin wuz not nicely wrapped
