Fun. But to make it more realistic...

Make em asay "damn Im thirsty,!" at least once. Theyve been running scared and cold for like two days without food or water. That would have make it more realistic. I dont get how this obvious issue -water, food- is missed in so many movies.

Anyone who said that amongst other starved/dehydrated people (who weren't whining) would probably get a beating. Tempers wear pretty thin under such circumstances.

Dont you think the "normal" think would be to complain with each other, about thirst? check out movies from WWII, POW, Concentration Camps and such; hunger and thirst is the main topic among the starved, even when experiencing fear or danger. I remember quite well some books, the people explaining how "food was the main topic or conversation"...

I'd imagine people would have the decency not to annoy the others by whining about something everyone knows about.

Some people get assholish when hungry - not even starved, just normal hungry, plus the frustration of being stalked by antagonists they're incapable of doing anything about, maybe the whining even disrupts concentration of those trying to determine how to escape or survive, I'd imagine the others would just beat down the whiners

Based on what I've seen and experienced (hiking, camping), sharing emotions, fears and complains that all share (like cold, thirst, noises, etc) is a way of bonding and "going together through it".
In the movie, a simple "we need to get some water!" would have shown some realism, (a great value when its about mutant cannibals). An attempt to drink from the pond with mutant fish, interrupted by one of them like "no, its contaminated!" would have even added more drama to it all. If not, at least, show them chewing some of the "beef jerky", that Uri said he had..it doesnt need to be whine" or even stop the flow of the film, to make it more realistic that they are human after all.

"Predator," (the original) comes to my mind: the scene when the black guy (or was it the native american?) had a good gulp of water while watching the forest. The guys where nervous as hell been chased by the badass invisible alien, but hey, gotta take a drink.

but ok. We can`t all agree.

It wouldn't have made the film any better/worse, so I'm not sure why you're fixating on the idea to this extent..

The best way to make it realistic is to have the Russian and the Aussie guys survive. This would be the most likely situation. All those *beep* Americans would have a) not survived or b) been protected by an Aussie.

Considering the conditions and how strangely such a common tourist-guide visited this area and how un-prepared, I'd agree. They know the water is not safe, from the fish. Hell the ground isn't even safe. The key factor, to me, was keeping them in the radius enough for radiation to endanger them, then they get frantic. This film, while it didn't do a bad job of faking the replica of Chernobyl, def is not up to the real deal.

Remember the two bags that the couple they met just before leaving threw in the back of the van? That could've had enough food and water to keep the group focused on the mutants for a couple days rather than complain about less important things at the time
