Good movie, D'Onofrio is great, ending sucks

I really liked the movie until the end. I didn't think he killed the girl and became a killer like some people think. If that was the case, why wouldn't he have just killed her and kept his uncle alive? I hated that it was his uncle. That ruined the movie for me. Finding out that the father knew his brother was a serial killer and told him to kill his wife and do whatever to his son really killed the mobie for me. It made D'Onofrio's character way more creepy and scary if he was just a psycho who killed women and then decided to keep the kid alive. I only watched the movie once. Maybe there were more hints at the father being behind it and I just didn't see it. I just thought it felt unnecessary.

Well for me it's the opposite the ending made the movie perfect. As in the movie several hits are said. "Like we are family." or when rabbit asked "Why do you do what you do." and answers "They make me do it" as he do it for money like contracts. It was very smart and that's why the movie end is marvelous it all comes together beautifully. For me it was perfect just like surveillance was, Jennifer's movies always have a unexpected twist!

I totally agree. I really didn't like the way Rabbit knew just how to stab the girl so she wouldn't die (and that was a big f-ing knife), and then the twist ending was so completely unbelievable my rating went from four stars to three (on a five star rating system). It felt to me like the director thought "now how can I make this unique." When it would have stood on its own without the preposterous brother angle. I mean, really? You are married and have a kid for nine + years and you never mention the sadistic serial rapist/killer in the family? Or that you even HAVE a brother? Why not? Because you thought "hmmmmm, maybe ten years down the road I'll need someone to bump them off"? Pffffffft.

The movie is boring, and the ending is not logic at all. Would you get your psychopath brother to abduct your wife and you kid? I mean if you want them dead, get some professional killer and make sure they're dead. Then how can he live in a big house and have kids like a normal family since he's abnormal? Just stupid
