sleeping scene

Theres a scene where bob is sleeping and rabbit comes up to him and kinda like wants to eat him? What was this scene about as it kinda went no where.

I am asking that myself ever since, that is the only scene that (for me) is completely pointless.
Once I read in a review that it could be meant as Rabbit is "silently" screaming into Bob's face, but then the sound effect that comes with it doesn't make sense.

So many things have left out in the final cut, I wish that scene would have made place for something else that didn't made it into the final movie.

DESPERATELY waiting for a directors-cut

This is purely my opinion, but I think it was meant to show that Rabbit wasn't as cowed as he gave the impression of being.

I think it was a silent scream the sound effect mentioned was the backing soundtrack im sure.

I think it's like a child sticking out their tongue at their parent, except this is his captor, and it's less snotty and more of a serious way for Rabbit to show that he is not afraid, even if Bob is completely unaware of it, Rabbit wants to prove he can get in Bob's face. He is proving it to himself. It's the first step to showing the audience that he is not helpless. You can think of it also like a child proving they have the gut to walk into the haunted house, but then he runs right out, because he is not ready to go all the way.
