*Spoiler* Did anyone else figure it out when.....
When Bob shows Rabbit the newspaper clipping of his dad getting remarried? How would Bob know who Rabbit's dad was, as he only picked up Rabbit and his Mom? Bob had to have known his father.

sharenot really considering he had been following the story in the papers since he took them both.....papers obviously named the family, the father etc

yes at the end
shareAlso in the film when Bob said the statement to Rabbit "In one ear & out the window"(the last thing his father said to him when driving away word for word) that is when I knew it & was waiting for it in the end
I wish they didn't ruin the ending by blurting it out, but still great film.

Were YOU watching the movie? Killer Bob wasn't revealed as being Rabbit's uncle until the END. Rabbit didn't know/figure out Bob was his uncle either, until near the end.
I knew it when he said "You look like your mom". There was something very...familiar about it. But if that hadn't clued me in, then the scene with the newspaper clipping. Not neccessarily because he had it, but because he said "this is not someone who misses you." There's no way he would've known that from a newspaper clipping.

Then why not just tell him everything? Show him the letter from Rabbit's father? That would've certainly drove home the point.

Not really, kidnappers often tell children their families don't want them because if they did they would come a get them. Not really a clue, but, yes, one with 20/20 hindsight. Perfectly plausible without him knowing the father.
shareI was more suspicious in the opening scene when the dad insisted the mom take a cab. I knew the premise of the movie was about a serial killer cab drive so I knew this would put her in harms way. I wasnt sure if it was intentionally done by the dad or just tragic irony. But I also found it suspicious that the cab was waiting in a parking lot for them.
The news paper clipping wasn't necessarily a give away because the plot already established that he combs the newspaper everyday looking for articles about the victims. Plus the scene where they played the game with the licenses showing they memorize every detail of the victims. So even if it wasn't his brother, he still would have known who her husband was and that he got remarried.
The cab wasn't waiting for them. It was driving up. But sure, it was a setup.
shareActually there is a scene where Bob tells Rabbit something like,
"It's just you and me kid...we're family."
But I just took it as being metaphorical.
I don't think it was clear from the marriage clipping because before that, had you watched, you would have seen that he clipped a lot of news about Rabbit and his mother. So I am PRETTY sure in articles about a missing family, they name the husband. What did point to the fact that the father was in on it was the snotty attitude he had when he dropped the mom and the kid off at the movies.
shareNot really, he would be in the news and even on TV possibly begging for his family back. Now the question would be would he keep track. Probably not, but more likely since he kept the kid and he wanted to brainwash him that his dad didn't want him, which is often what kidnappers say to kids.
shareYou're kidding right? Obviously we saw the ending and know what Bob's relationship to them was, but that's hardly a clue for it.
First off, he had them prisoners in this cab. Clearly he had, at the very least, the mother's purse and her id, credit card, driving license etc
He damn well knows who she is (even without the reveal in the end)
Second, he told the kid that from now on, he is to look for missing person's reports in the newspaper for his scrapbook.
So that should tell you in and of itself how he could have known who the kid was and who his father was.
