Why do you assume that *everyone* would do the same thing in that situation? People are wired different ways. I'm a crazy panicky mess in everyday life-however the few times I've had a gun pulled on me or been forced into a very scary situation, I'm usually fine. After the immediate shock.
I've had conversations with friends (women, specifically) who have had a desire to be placed in similar situations. Over can say all one wants about 'how crazy this makes someone' or 'what happened to them before' et al, but that doesn't seem to be a contributing factor, the numbers fly in different directions when I compared these girls socioeconomic status, family life, educations and all that. It's across the board. I don't talk to many boys, but I've met one that had this interest but it wasn't a sexual thing-he was just a glutton for experience.
My point is that n situations where death or serious abuse is simply around, all logic goes in one ear and out the window.

Wrong. Go read about people that had similar experiences. Many never try to escape because they are terrified and controlled by their kidnaper, especially kids. share
