Is it just me or there are more who find that the plot of this movie is very similar to the events that happened in Cleveland this week? I am talking about the kidnapping of 4 women by Ariel Castro, who held them and raped them for 10 years, until they escaped. The real events and the plot are very similar. What do you think?
shareThis film would have been completyed and in the can before that particular news story hit the headlines. However it not the only case in recent years of of someone being kidnapped as a child and held for years as some some sort of slave. Although most of the stories involved girls held as sex slaves rather than boys held as a 'domestic help' and protege.

Castro wasn't a serial killer.
He wasn't paid by a relative to kill anyone.
He didn't raise and train an apprentice.

If you want something similar to what Castro did,real life is the place to look.
Look up Gary Heidnik (oddly,also from a Cleveland burb)and compare his life to Castro.

shareNo not at all. I live less than a quarter mile from the Castro house (it's gone now) I know the whole story and one of the girls. Unless he was banging that kid it's nothing like the Castro story.
