When the Phryne asks Ben Abrahams to translate the Hebrew writing at the bottom of the torn page, he holds it upside down to read it! Big mistake, but then the actor was Irish, not Jewish! As an Israeli, I find it a little disconcerting, especially as I was able to read it plainly off the screen earlier in the episode. Another translation could read as such: "That which is hidden will become plain through flames."

I will not equivocate – I will not excuse – I will not retreat a single inch – AND I WILL BE HEARD!

And there is also Saul's favorite book, "Songs from the Yiddish Theatre". Per the "Hansard Volume 40" book card, Saul Abrahams last checked out that book in September 1928. So the episode takes place in 1928. But per the "Raisins and Almonds" page in Songs, "The song was adapted to conditions under the Nazis, and one version from the Kaunas ghetto was...'Show them the graves...at the Ninth Fort' (an extermination place near Kaunas)." Nazis were around by 1928, but per Wikipedia the Kaunas (AKA Kovno, etc.) ghetto was established in 1941.
