Books

A friend of mine who lives in Sydney got me into this series and I am instantly hooked. Just finished watching the season finale so eagerly waiting for S2 or at least S1 showing up on American television. Does anyone know how many books there currently are or if the show the amount of similarities the show follows?

I was big, it was the pictures that got small-Gloria Swanson

Phryne Fisher short stories and miscellany: A Question of Death

The TV series are adaptations and as such alter the books' stories, plots and characters, most notably Phryne's sister who is alive and well in the novels.

i shall be checking these out. am hoping they will be as absorbing as agatha christie's books do

The books are very good. I found the TV series disappointing somehow.

i'm still trying to track down the books and see how they compare but adaptations, however much i might like them, usually can't compare to the books. hope i won't be too disappointed when i do read them

I only read "Cocaine Blues" and to be honest, I was quite disappointed. I prefer the series.
Or are some books better than others?
Thanks.
