Show your support for Miss Fisher Series 3!

The ABC in Australia has not yet decided to renew this wonderful series for a third season, despite its popularity both locally and internationally.

As a public broadcaster, the ABC has very limited funds; even the renewal of a successful show is not a given.
However, as a public broadcaster the ABC has to listen to the public - that’s us! Fans have to make their voices heard.

Take a moment to show the ABC how much love there is for Phryne all over the world.

You can add your name to the petition here:
http://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/mark-scott-save-miss-fisher-s-mu rder-mysteries

And tweet @abctv with the hashtag #missfisherseries3 if you want to know what will happen after the Season 2 finale!

How many signatures are required? It's above 2500 (yay!!!!), but there's no final listing. The number indicates 5000, but a friend of mine told me that the initial requirement was 2500. I've already signed it, of course, but I'm spreading the word.

It seems the Change website sets new goals after certain signposts (eg 2500, then 5000). So I think we just aim for as many as we can get! Whatever will make a big impact on the ABC.

Ah, bless you phryneshandmaiden. I was looking to see if someone had posted a link to the petition here. Quite a few foreign signatories too, which is great! I hope they keep coming.

Signed. I'm a British viewer, and I love this show. It's great fun, and it's good to see a period piece with such a strong, independent woman at the centre of it. Disappointed that they are no plans (yet!) for a third series.

I too have signed the petition and happy to do so, series 1 was excellent, i think series 2 was rushed out with some very weak story lines, I know it's all meant to be fun but with series 1 being of such good quality i hope the producers do take their time and think it through. of course we cant get enough of it. Essie looked tired and drawn in a couple of episodes and Dot seems to be carrying a few extra pounds. But a good plot is what a detective story requires ( so I wont mention the Christmas Murder under the Mistletoe ) The thing is there's a lot of lovely imagery and nice art-deco motifs from the period, it's so nice to look at.

Why is the petition web site asking me for $5 to 'promote' the petition?

That wasn't very sporting, using real bullets.

reply

I don't know. I haven't received such a request, nor can I see one on the petition page. I didn't make the petition, I just shared the link. In any case, don't pay anything - the petition has already received positive recognition.

Petition signed; currently, 500 short of 10,000...

Other projects announced for funding include the six part drama series Glitch from Matchbox Pictures, Sammy J & Randy in Rickett's Lane, and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries series three.

Worst. Rescue. EVER!

I didn't care for them. What did you see in them that was worth another season?
