How Did PBS Air Season#1 Episode#1 ?

a friend suggested i try the series on blu-ray and i'm hooked. to
which a question. at the end of episode#1 season#1 Miss Fisher and
Sacha are confined in the locked steam room in the Turkish bath
having been stripped by the bad guys. at one point Sacha collapses
face down on the bench from heat. Miss Fisher tries turn off the valve
under the bench but the handle is to hot. so she pulls off the towel
Sacha had wrapped around his waist to use. when she turns off the
steam the camera angle switches to the vantage point of looking
at them. we see not only Sacha's naked body but Miss Fisher's left
hand is firmly on Sacha's right butt cheek. how did PBS air that
scene? did they air it as is?

If memory serves me right, YES. I can't really say if PBS has changed its ways these days, but in the past, PBS always aired Brit shows "as is." It may have been 24 years ago, but when PBS in America aired the Lost Language of the Cranes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1975984/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1, it aired unedited. And in 1991, it was the only place on broadcast American TV where you could watch both Brian Cox and Angus Macfadyen portraying gay men, in bed having sex with their partners. 1991!
I realize this is an Aussie show, but I would think the same logic applies. We're well into the 21st Century for crying out loud, right?

Pbs also aired Tales of the City in '94, which had lots more nudity & sex than this series has, though I think it was Parental Discretion Advised. Miss fisher season 3 premieres here tomorrow on KTEH!!

There's another brief nude scene earlier in that episode. In the Roman bath with Phryne and Lydia, while they are talking, a nude woman walks across in front of them, in front of the camera. The viewer can see the totally nude woman from the rear.

Then in a later episode, when Phryne brings home a black man to have bondage sex with...wasn't he mostly nude during parts of their love exchange in her bedroom?

I was wondering how they showed season 3 first episode with the beheading?

Season 3 hasn't aired on PBS yet, I think. In fact, in my area, this series hasn't aired at all. Has this series ever been aired on U.S. PBS? Or only in the UK?

I watch the series on Netflix.

TV shows have different censor rules for late night and such, if that's what you mean. But I think beheadings can be shown during prime time, if I'm not mistaken. We have zombies chomping on people's arms and such on The Walking Dead during prime time.
