Phryne's father & uncle
At the end of season 3 what was the story behind the $50,000 that Phryne's father & uncle clashed over? I didn't understand that at all.
shareFisher's family used to be poor, but during the war some rich relatives died and her family ended up inheriting the estate. Her father's cousin- the man who took them hostage, murdered 3 people, etc - was the original Baron. Everyone thought he had died when his ship was sunk by mines, but he had actually deserted. With him 'deceased', the Fishers were next of kin and inherited. However, he didn't actually die and sought Fisher's father to get the money that they ''took'' from him. To get him away from his family Baron Fisher said he'd get the money ($50K) from the scientific contest that was being held in that episode.
