Missing Characters on Series 3???

I've noticed on the cast listing for Series 3 that Mr. Butler, Bert, Cec, and Jane are nowhere to be found. These folks helped bring character to the stories. I certainly hope that they weren't all dismissed just to help save on production costs.

Maybe it's just too early yet. Although I like Jane, I could live without her. Mr. Butler, Bert, and Cec are an entirely different story, however. They are the core group of players and I couldn't imagine this show without them.

Perhaps there are scheduling conflicts and they just aren't going to be in the first episode. 

EDIT: I just checked and it looks like Bert may be the only one with a scheduling conflict. Now I'm scared! 😱

The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control, and not the other way around.

They are all still there. Phryne's latest relative to turn up is not on the cast list.
You would have to be a speed reader to read the credits.

Just discovered it via PBS (thank you, PBS)

so I'm still back on season 1...

and as much as I like these characters, I have noticed a couple of episodes in which, no offence, they were missing entirely or simple 'set pieces', rather than actual characters

-- more than few times it almost felt like the writers went, "hey what are Bert & Cec up to?" and wrote a scene were they walked through the main action, and went on their merry way, only returning if Phryne needed muscle to leverage the climax until Jack could deus Ex Machina onto the two seconds late/early

and I just watched the Circus episode; did Jane do anything but giggle in the opening scene when Sam came to Hire Phryne... heck Dot only had that, and the worried GF scene with Hugh and the new cop. Butler introduced Sam and he too was off...

my guess is the writers, or their superiors, preferred the 'streamlined' episodes with Hugh & Dot & Jack & Phryne... and as such started writing more
