EBM… I've seen your board, your posts and your kind responses to mine. I think YOU ROCK 

But I have to confess, you are waaaaay out of my league!   

I'm still trying to come up with a list of 20 directors/movies that won't shame me right off that whole thread! 

Now, you're asking who I'd like to see on one of the shows I love best ( like a bloody homage to Mrs. Peele and Mr. Steed in coolness and outright fab fun) and you've put up a list I DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE ONE SINGLE PERSON ON….  So… wow… outclassed, clueless and completely outdone! 

All of which leave me with only one possible response… YOU ROCK!

And here goes nothing….
Maggie Smith
William Powell (you did not say they had to still be living )
Dan Stevens
Megan Dodds
Sullivan Stapleton

No, no, you more than hold your own. Your posts/lists are a pleasure to read... even when you bear bad news (no season 4, such a shame). Based purely on your recommendation, I will try The Bletchley Circle and Ripper Street.

Great choices! I think Phryne would approve of the gents. William Powell is an interesting choice. Megan Dodds was good on Poirot. Maggie Smith would be a bit of a coup; she could bring a wider audience to the show.

WP is one of my all-time favs. He's funny, cool, sophisticated, suave and debonair! I'd like to see him getting off a ship at the dock then coming into town as another detective on a case Phryne would automatically assume was hers given it was on her territory. 

Megan is a stunning beauty who can act. Maggie just blows the doors off any room she's in and Sully Stapleton (IMHO), is one of Australia's most charming, cute… and yeah… HOT, exports! LOVED HIM on Strike Back! Wish Blindspot was worthy of him. 

I gotta say I wasn't expecting much from Bletchley Circle but I'm a huge fan of a couple of the actresses so I went for it anyway and then just got sucked into the story. I really liked those women. I found myself admiring their courage and being afraid for them in tight situations… like they could really get in trouble or something! Which, honestly, you don't get much anymore. After 56 years of books, TV, plays and movies… you kinda start knowing how things are going to play out. So even though I sort of "knew" on BC, it still made me goose bump-nervous, you know? It's unconventional and well-worth watching and I'll be curious to know what you think of it. 

Oh… and I'm still working on that list for the 20 directors thread. It's pretty thin air up in those lofty heights! 

I agree.

Will do.
