But the show has a dedicated costume designer named Marion Davies who is responsible for all of the clothing. She buys period fabrics and (especially with Phryne's wardrobe) makes patterns and cuts the fabric to the actors themselves. Since the invention of the dart had not surfaced during the period in which the show takes place, she drapes and bias cuts all the fabrics to show Essie/Phryne to the best advantage possible while also staying true to the era. She also designs all the hats although she sends those designs to a milliner (hat designer/maker) for finishing and she designed Phryne's first purse TO FIT HER GUN!

ABC (Australia Broadcast Network) is selling the S/3 sound track and S/1 DVD box set. But if you want to buy any of the wraps or fur collars you have to go to Every Cloud Productions as they produce the show and are marketing some of the shows clothing and other items online (although not the stuff I really want myself… like the hats!).

eBay also hasn't caught up with Phryne, trust me, I've been checking. But then, they just started showing some of the Downton Abbey hats etc.. so don't get your hopes up there. There are no clothing sources for MFMM because their costume designer does it all pretty much herself and her staff out of necessity to stay true to the era.
