What does Jack say about a telescope in Season 3?

In the last episode of Season 3 that has a Professor Toad who gets killed, Jack and Phryne are outside in the dark looking for the glowing substance. They have a conversation about her father going to England, and Jack saying that since the universe is expanding, then maybe that means England will get farther away. She looks up at the stars and comments something about it all looking so still to her. Jack looks up and then looks at Phyrne, who is still looking up, and he says something about a telescope. Phryne then says, "What's that supposed to mean?" Jack says, "That's a romantic overture."

I've listened to that several times and can't make out what he says about a telescope. He sort of mumbles the line.

Can anyone tell what he says? That's his first romantic overture, so I want to know what the line is. "Telescope" doesn't sound very romantic to me, so maybe I misunderstood that.
