Didn't realise Essie was so tall?
IMDB lists her as being 5'10"!! Surely that is incorrect? She looks to be around 5'6-5'7" in the show...maybe everyone else is just really tall...

shareI always thought she was very tall as well. If she's 5'6" that's pretty tall especially if you add on her 4-5" heels as well. She seems to tower over most of the other characters. I know Aunt Prudence is particularly short, but when I see her with everyone else, she just seems so tall. Even when she's around other women in gowns, dressed up (I assume also wearing heels), she just seems quite lanky.

I don't think 5'6 is correct. That figure would mean she is only a little taller than me. I think she is quite taller
shareIf you add 3" to her height you get 5'9" and that's not shabby considering the average height of women in the Twenties. With 4" heels she'd be at 5'10" and she'd tower over most women in height. How's that for an explanation? I'm 5'9" and I used to tower over most women, especially when I wore heels.
Now I'm older and I've had a number of foot injuries including a metal pin in my left foot for a bad break so no more heels for me. A back injury from a car accident has taken two inches of my height. Now I'm shorter unless I've had traction treatment for pain. I confess I prefer being taller, my back hurts much less. Middle age sucks like a Dyson.

Yes, that was exactly my point. She's always in heels on top of it, so I think that would definitely explain why she seems to tower over her costars. She's on pretty even footing with Jack.
I hear ya. I'm 5' tall. I also lost 2" (I had spinal reconstruction of my entire lower spine), and I also have a pin in my left foot. So even when I was almost 5'2" I never had the joys you experienced being taller.
Being shorter than short definitely blows. As it is, I feel "taller" when I put inserts into my sneakers....
