Favorite Miss Fisher Quotes?
I'm looking for a quote and was wondering what some of your favorites were - seeing as there's no quotes page.

shareThis is from my admittedly poor memory: I love when Phryne is leaving the house while Aunt Prudence clucks at her about safety and she pulls out her gun and flippantly says something to the effect of "Don't worry, that's why I have this". Aunt Pru's scandalized look is priceless!
"It's a real burden being right so often." Captain Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly
I loved that^ moment from the first ep too.
This is probably one of the funniest exchanges in the show yet (although my memory of the first two seasons isn't the best, so I'm probably forgetting some past great ones). It's from Season 3 ep 5, 'Death and Hysteria', so I might cover it with spoiler bars for those who haven't gotten this season yet just in case:
Dot: "What is it, miss?"
Miss Fisher: "Well, remember that time Ronaldo the rodeo rider came to supper and...um...you came to my rescue?"
Dot: "I thought he was doing something awful to you."
Miss Fisher: "But it was just awfully nice. Well, this does the same job...but without the need for a rodeo rider."
Dot: "Eew."
Miss Fisher: "Extremely useful. Unless, of course, it electrocutes you."
Jack Sparrow: "Look." [shoots the monkey] "An undead monkey! Top that!"
I have not yet seen Series 3 so I appreciate the spoiler font ~ thank you. I'm not a spoilerphobe so I peeked anyway. That was an adorable scene -- I can't wait to actually see it!

No problem. I wasn't sure if it warranted spoiler bars or not, but thought it best to err on the side of caution. It really is quite funny when watching the scene play out. What makes it so hilarious are the deliveries/reactions from Essie Davis and Ashleigh Cummings.

I'm particular to Jack's line
" Don't apologize, it just confuses me! "
"He's an old friend."
Phryne uses that several times, to Jack, to explain why she's meeting with, or found with, a man.
I’ve just started rewatching the show from the beginning again on DVD and there were two exchanges from the first episode that particularly stood out to me:
Miss Fisher: “Goodnight, Aunt Prudence.”
Aunt Prudence: “At this hour? It's not safe! Why do you think you can just run off on your own?”
Miss Fisher: “Because I'm carrying a gun!” *pulls out gold-plated revolver*
Aunt Prudence: “Phryne!”
That^ was great. It was all in the delivery. The way Essie Davis pulls out her gun and delivers the line, followed by Miriam Margolyes’ reaction to it. Also good was:
**slight spoiler warning for those who haven't watched the first ep**
Dot: “Miss, about the job, I don't know what my priest will think of your...guns and knives and...dancing.”
Miss Fisher: “Considering your last employers were a drug baroness and a rapist, surely you'd find me a modest improvement.”
I expect to rediscover even more great quotes as I work my way through the episodes. Essie Davis is just so awesome as Phryne. Her line deliveries, like Miss Fisher's costumes, are impeccable.
Jack Sparrow: "Look." [shoots the monkey] "An undead monkey! Top that!"
