Try as I may, I find her to be so incredibly annoying and irritating. The way she enunciates and pronounces everything drives me wonky. I know she's supposed to be very posh and upper crusty, very toffee nosed, and yes, she certainly pulls that off exceptionally well.
I also know she's a very accomplished actress. I've seen her in Harry Potter, and she seemed good enough.
But for what it's worth, every time she appears with Phryne, I just find myself twitching and crinkling up my nose as she over-enunciates everything and pushes her snotty nosed enunciation of each and every word ever so slowly and deliberately. I want to just slap her.
So yeah, I get it, she's doing a very good job as a terribly stuck up socialite, and she's effective at that. It's funny because there are other snotty nosed people I see on other shows and for whatever reason they don't seem to bug me and get under my skin as much as Prudence.

Maybe a Spoiler - I was surprised she wasn't at the wedding. Jane wasn't there either. That would have been a chance to get everyone together in the last episode.
And I'm totally fine with spoilers. I've never yet heard a "spoiler" that truly "spoiled" anything for me. In fact, I tend to prefer to know things in advance.
I've only seen seasons 1-3 and there were rumours of a season 4 but nothing manifested. And last I recall, the end of season 3 had Phryne flying off in her plane after that brief hugging with Jack.
What'd I miss? :)

This is a spoiler. I'm going to reveal something from end of the last episode of season 3. In the scene before Phryne and her father flew off in the plane, Dot and Hugh got married in the church. Hugh convinced the priest that science and religion can co-exist so the priest agreed to marry them in the Church. Everything was done with only one days notice. Fewer than ten people were in attendance. As I said before, I did not see Aunt P. I guess Jane was still in school in France.
Oh yes, yes, yes!! Now that you mention it, I do recall. That's right! And I do remember that conversation Hugh had discussing Science coming from God, etc. For some odd reason, when you mentioned a wedding, my mind just assumed there was a reference to Jack and Phryne (and how they finally got that romantic slow motion moment, so to speak, before she took off on the plane with her father, where Jack and Phryne fiiiiinally admitted their feelings for each other).
Okay, gotcha. And nope, it's not a spoiler. It's just a reminder because I did see it, but somehow, how peculiar, I totally forgot! (??) :P

Do you really think they will marry at some point? She says she's not the marrying kind, and that she can't commit herself to any man.

If they did, it would ruin everything. Such a big spark of this series is her forays and adventures. We all know how she and Jack feel about each other...
But hey, they did a major letdown at the end of True Blood, and they did it in Bones, so it's not out of the realm. I just hope they never do, because the tension is part of what adds to the excitement of the show.

True, the tension between them is an essential part of the series, which I am enjoying. And if there was a season four, I don't think the writers would go the marriage rout, but now that a movie seems to be on its way, where I think things will be wrapped up, marriage might be a possibility.

What makes me think it might be on the docket was when Phryne was ready to fly off and got out of the plane and she and Jack embraced and kissed. It seemed like they came to some type of mutual appreciation.
The tension of her living the perpetual bachelor lifestyle and committing to not being the marrying type, is what drives the tension between her, and a man who -- while he does accept her for being just the way she is -- it's clear he really wants to be with her, but not as a fling.

I totally agree.
