So many holes, so little time (spoilers)
In real life:
- The girl would have reported the bullet to a crew member immediately.
- Pilot would never have opened the cockpit door. It's against policy and anyone could see nothing good would come of it.
- Home Secretary would not have accepted an envelope from a random person on the street.
- Government officials would not have been making up hijacking-response policy on the spot.
- Government officials would have shot the plane down (to avoid another 9-11).
- Government would never have let 2 crime lords just drive away. That would just increase crime, not decrease it.
- Sam Nelson (Idris Elba's character) would never have turned the gun back over to the hijackers.
- Passengers would have been constantly asking to use the bathrooms the entire time!
- Little girl who wandered off would not gotten far.
- Upon landing, passengers would have all stood up and jammed the aisles immediately rather than waiting for an announcement to exit the plane and then doing so in an orderly manner.
- FTSI (Financial Times Stock Exchange in the UK) would have declared the trades illegal market manipulation and unwound them.
Nonetheless, I did like it, and enjoyed the nice touches (that had nothing to do with the plot) such as when:
- one of the crime lords took out the other.
- woman with thick-rimmed glasses admitted she had no one to call.
