This movie will surely be better than
Geoprizm... Ha! Seriously - was there a bet that someone couldn't sell a hundred million dollar film titled after their beat up car from college?

It's better than Dwayne Johnson's "Rampage", that's the nicest thing I can say about it.
shareI'd probably say I liked it more than Rampage as well. Rampage really was quite dull.
Geostorm wasn't great, but I didn't feel like it was terrible either. It was an okay 6/10 kind of disaster movie. It at least had a few interesting ideas and a plot twist that I didn't really see coming.
I liked Rampage more than this. Armageddon trumps them all anyway.
shareArmageddon has its moments but it's really an overlong mess. I just rewatched it recently and started losing interest about halfway through.
For me, the GOAT disaster movie is still, and probably always will be, Twister. It has a story that is genuinely interesting, takes itself just seriously enough while also leaving room for some effective humor, and also has an excellent cast that brings their characters to life in a truly memorable and endearing way.
Dante's Peak is probably my runner-up.
I still like Armageddon more. It's not just a movie, it's a cultural piece. This Geostorm movie is just like a poor attempt to recreate the Armageddon Xperience(tm).
The Aerosmith song, the special effects, the crazy dirty-dozen-esque characters, the iconic placing of hand on tv tube thing, the orange spacesuit epic walking towards the camera moment. All are special and memorable.
Everything is really well made and well thought out. Best disaster movie ever. Both Twister and Dante's Peak are not too shabby either. But Armageddon will always be my #1.
Well if you feel that strongly about it, you really should own the Criterion edition of Armageddon.
I am still shocked that such a thing exists, but it does.
It exists cause obviously not only me acknowledge Armageddon's qualities. Yeah, it's not the best movie or anything, but next time you stumble across it on tv or a plane, please give it a chance. It's a really well made popcorn entertainment sort of art.
I actually used to own Armageddon boxset dvd, not Criterion tho'. But no longer since I got rid all of my dvd collections and went strictly digital only about a decade ago.
All digital, huh?
I hope to never do that. I enjoy all the special features on the physical releases. Even the digital releases that include some of that stuff never include everything that's on the Blu-Ray.
Yeah, I like some of the "behind the scene" or "the making of." But not too big of a deal to me.
Digital is just way too convenient. I got rid of all my dvds just when BluRay started to take over. I have never had any BluRay player or discs. And I have limited space in the house to begin with. So, begone dvd shelves!
