Better with repeat viewings
It is better on the second viewing. Anyone agree?
shareTotally agree with you. This is my favorite Marvel movie series. I absolutely adored Thor 1, and thought this was very good on first viewing, but not quite the original. Seeing it here and there after has made me grow even more fonder to it.
Prometheus is another movie that I just absolutely loved on second viewing, but I was just left saying okay okay pretty decent on the first.

Just watched this again after recently rewatching Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman etc. It just emphasised to me how much more entertaining most Marvel films are in comparison. Besides the dialogue being funnier, we also get nice visual gags, the supporting characters are far more attractive and the storylines more varied.🐭
shareIt holds up very well. It was always good but the more you break it down the more you must acknowledge that Dark World is a great sequel.
"A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man."
I don't fancy watching it more than once, thanks...

Just rewatched it yesterday. Nope. Still bad. Dark elves with lasers. Asgard with laser turrets and laser swords. Goblins/orcs with laser bazookas. Monsters with hand grenades. And the dark elves looked like Teletubbies.
Seriously. Compare:

Pretty sad.
As bad as it was, it did have good moments as it schlepped along its tepid story. The Loki/Thor scenes are all great. Hiddleston's Loki is always perfect. Sadly they gave him expert mele skills in this instead of letting him fight with spell-casting.
Thor 2 is about as good as BvS. Even when Marvel slips up and drops a deuce like this, it is still comparable to the best DC puts out.
