I don't know whether it was because he transitioned to the album 'stadium pop' version of her song at the end or seeing all the young girls in the crowd and that he's 'changed' and what Dan said about rockstars who can't please one woman? I just want to hear what different people thought...btw I really enjoyed the ending a lot.
My opinion, there were several things going on there which were touched on. I didn't read, though, that she realized that she was going to become him: That pimped out over produced version of what the record company wanted to turn her into. She'd have to perform the songs the way THEY wanted, not the way she wanted to. She went right to Dan after leaving the concert and within a couple of hours devised the plan to upload and sell the album for $1. Pure profit which she split with the rest of the group. If she signed with the record company they'd have seen 98-99% of the profit of record sales and she'd see profit only after the production costs were paid back from her measly 2%. This way she can still perform the songs, her songs, her way on her terms in the settings of her choice. That is how I understood the scene. First, foremost, and always she was a musician and song writer.
It was probably a number of factors. I've read some in this thread and can't disagree with them, from Gretta being put off by the rather clichéd reaction of the young women in the audience, to the kind of production Dave used (not being to her taste), to what it said about him choosing what worked for him, that would not work for her, as opposed to what she thought she had been driving at and let him know about.
But basically I think when I saw it the decision was about what was not in the scene, and that was any reason for her to overcome her earlier decision that they had come to an end. She saw him doing his own thing, and nothing about him doing that drew her back to him, so she split.
I felt she was moving to her future, her vision of art, her rejection of the music biz. It wasn't about the women, it wasn't about him. It is about a woman's desire for creativity and expression.
