Why is it okay for a woman to slap a man? If a man slaps a woman the worlds in a rage. I agree that the world should be in a rage, I just don't agree that it's okay for a woman to do it.
I've been slapped hard before and trust me, it can be as painful as being punched. My point is that a man shouldn't be expected to not defend himself when being assaulted by a woman.
A woman shouldn't feel free to assault a man, with no threat of recourse. Keeping feminism in mind.
Stop being a pussy, slapping is not violence, its perfectly normal reaction for both men and women since thousonds of years.
Just because people started to cry about getting slapped in social media etc, doesn`t make it any more violent. It`s been there before you, it will be there after you.
I believe you might have missed the point Infinite_Rage made ... It is not a Pussy or not pussy issue... He is saying there is a double standard in movies (in this case) where it is ok for a woman to hit a man but the reverse is totally unacceptable (as it should be) ... but because women are deemed "the weaker sex" they are allowed to do things the "stronger sex" is not approved to do. Rules etc should be blind to gender, race, religion, ethnicity or whatever...
Why should rules be blind to the fact that men ARE physically stronger and therefore more dangerous to women? You say women are "deemed the weaker sex"?
Why deemed? It is a fact. What is your problem?
p.s. I don't agree with women slapping men in films but don't come at it from the "double standard" rubbish when women are killed by men every single week (in the UK, my home country, at least). It's deceitful of you.
Oh, please! Yes, women do kill men. But the percentage is infinitesimal compared to men killing/hitting/injuring women. And while a slap 'may' be violence, this wasn't. It was a reaction to being cheated on and lied to. A slap like this wasn't intended to injure anything but pride. A closed fist can break something. Most slaps can't. And she felt violated at that moment. He deserved a slap. Men are the perpetrators of violence. Quit whining about a well-deserved slap. Based on what proof and what percentage?
And while a slap 'may' be violence, this wasn't.
No, a slap don't just "may" be violence. It IS violence and it is not excused and not considered violence just because YOU think that it isn't.
It was a reaction to being cheated on and lied to.
It doesn't excuse her hitting him.
He deserved a slap.
No, he didn't. Being cheated on and lied to doesn't justify her being violent towards him. If the woman had cheated on him, then would she deserved to be slapped? You probably wouldn't think so, since you're probably one of those people who think that a man should never hit a woman under any circumstances.
Men are the perpetrators of violence.
So are women. In fact, in the majority of domestic violence cases, it is actually women who instigate the violence and actually provoke it more often than men.
Quit whining about a well-deserved slap.
You need to quit whining and quit trying to justify why women should be disrespectful and violent towards men every time a man does something negative towards her or because the women "felt" slighted. What if the man in this case was not going to tolerate being hit by his spouse and reacted by hitting her back? You probably wouldn't like it.

Men get battered by their wife and girlfriends, too. reply share

Excellent point. Also, I would point out to the OP that it's not true that "men don't have the right to defend themselves". Honestly, if you were in his position, you would be happy to get away with just a slap, not having to confront the accusatory screams and guilt.
Are you serious? That's bs and lie. Saying that women usually kill men in self-defense is ignorant and shows an absolute denial of responsibility on the part of women. Women are just as fully capable of killing with impunity as men are and there are many cases of it. All women are not helpless, innocent creatures and they certainly are not all incapable of committing violence unless a man coerces her into it.

women are not helpless little creatures but they kill men more often in self defence. when not in self defence, there are the matters of gold digging or jealousy but it doesn't happen as much as men killing women and in so many cases, for trivial matters. men kill far more often for various reasons and more men die at the hands of men than at the hands of women. if wider society made steps to deal with the factors that lead men to kill more often, it could change but until then, men kill more than women. fact, whether you like it or not

Oh really? What about that girl in London that cut his boyfriend's penis last year? And most women would laugh upon hearing the news.

Violence may be a perfectly normal reaction, but it is still violence. BTW, go over to youtube and watch slapping videos. People can be knocked unconscious by a slap. If they strike their heads on something hard, they can be killed. Then it is off to prison for the slapper.
Meh, it's always wrong to hit someone. If you consider movies showing men slapping women, you might conclude that movies are not trying to set any right or wrong standard. Just expressing emotional hurt.
Personally, if I cheated on my girl, I think I'd deserve to be slapped because I'm a self-deprecating bitch. Of course, this hasn't happened, so I respect you sharing your perspective that it f'ing hurts and should not be considered "ok."
I would venture to guess though, that a woman slapped by a man is traumatized and left to fear the world of men MORE so than the other way around, though I'm not saying there's zero trauma for the latter.
Thank you, completely agree with this double standard. Often, we're conditioned to see female on male violence as not a big issue, even humourous. It's hugely hypocritical and boring now. Equality means violence either way is not ok
So you're saying if someone slaps you, you're not immediately gonna be angry and in defense mode? If so then you've never been slapped or slapped like they meant it.
Some people here got my point and then some would rather act like children.
Some people are missing the point. Double standard? When it comes to upper body strength a man is usually always stronger than a woman. So a slap from a woman (not recommending this though) will hurt, but a slap from a man to a woman could do way more damage.
Early in my relationship when living with my partner I did hit him in the body once (he was soooo annoyed). The reason I did it, was out of HUGE frustration because he wasn't listening, I mean REALLY not listening. So immature yes, but I was so mad and words weren't working.
So should they show slapping in a movie? Maybe not. If I had just found out that my partner had an affair.....?
Just because something is in a movie doesn't mean it's condoning it. Imagine! This movie talks about an affair, but if we're expanding that to movies in general. Are you saying that if it's in a movie, then the production company is advocating everything that's represented in their movie ...everything?? Wow, I'm never going to see James Bond again.
