That nearly ruined the whole movie for me. If you lower it to one dollar why not just lower it all the way to zero (free). I mean whats the difference??????

While she hated the changes he made to Lost Stars, it will become a big hit and she'll make a ton of money from it. With that in mind, she is able to sell her record for a dollar and split the profits.
shareIt's kind of funny that in 2016 the record industry has already caught on to how to defeat this by offering FREE music (for a limited time). Rihanna had an album which went to number 1 on the charts (despite only actually sending 7,200 albums) because Billboard counts all the free albums they gave away.
