Thats what they were doing towards the end? It says this movie came out 3 years ago but isnt the mannequin thing only started recently?

I just watched the movie and I wondered that. I've no idea where the Mannequin Challenge meme started - maybe it was here ?

The mannequin challenge was just started a few months ago... maybe the person who came up with it seen this movie lol

It wasn't a mannequin challenge -- James Corden's character defied the group to NOT dance to the song he put on, so the the group was all frozen until they couldn't hold it anymore and just HAD to dance. :)
