Close grip bench presses with 315 lbs. ??? Pffft! Yeah, right!!!!

I have to call b.s on that one. The scene that I'm referring to is later in the movie, when Mark Wahlbergs character is out by the pool talking to a group of kids about the neighborhood watch. At the beginning of the scene, he says something along the lines of: "Close grips with 315!"I understand that with almost every movie out there, that you have to suspend disbelief to a point, and Those are surely fake weights,but those of you out there who are real lifters will know what I'm talking about on this one. That was just laughable.

There are guys that can do it, but Wahlberg ain't one of them.

Mark Wahlberg was probably 40 or 41 when this was filmed, and looked to be in amazing shape, I'm not trying to take that away from him, but they got greedy with that particular scene.

He said earlier he benched 400lbs, so a 315 close grip isn't unbelievable.

I just don't see him benching 400 on flat bench, either.

I think he would have done that, that's about 140kg there's guys in my gym about the same size as Wahlberg doing that no probs .

Wahlberg worked out "as a real lifter" for the part.

Not a chance mark whalberg is in great shape no doubt but small by weightlifter standards he's lucky if he's a buck 80 he damn sure is not close gripping 315

If you watch closely, you can tell that the inside 2 plates on each side are fake and only the 45s on the outside are real.

Dwayne is also well over 6 feet tall & probably has 100 lbs on Marky Mark
