Hanz Zimmer should have got oscar !!!

First off I'll say I think "Rush" was soo good. Ron Howard really made a strong comeback on this one after some bad half ass comedy's . The story was one which I didn't know about as I'm not a racing fan nor was I born until about 9 years later but it was one made for the silver screen.

Now to Hanz Zimmer.. I'm a big fan of many films he's done scores in and "Rush" was no different. I thought his score in this film was Amazing and went with the racing theme so well. He should have won the oscar for this particular film in 2013 hands down.

He already scored another racing film, "Days of Thunder." Maybe he lost points for that?

I love his compositions but he recycles a lot of his own stuff.

Never mind Zimmer's score, Cosworth should have got an Oscar on the strength of that DFV unit in the McLaren firing up.

It's not my personal favourite engine note, but it's one of the all time greats.

To me the score sounded weirdly like The Rains of Castamere. I kept having Red Wedding flashbacks when I rewatched this movie recently. Maybe I've just watched too much Game Of Thrones though...

It was ok. Merely adequate.

Lots of it sounded like late eighties Carpenter (slightly cheesy guitars) with added strings bumping up against a lot of Howaord Shore's LOTR choir stuff.

Very predictable and unsatisfying in the usual Zimmer way.

For me, anyway.

What it did do effectively was it reinforced the overall cacophony and loudness of the sport.

Glasgow's FOREMOST authority Italics = irony. Infer the opposite please.

Well there are a lof of films he should have gotten Oscars for: The Thin Red Line, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar and at least a nomination for Rush I agree!
