A masterpiece on obsession.

I usually put off films when they first come out, especially if it's a big hit with the public; don't know, something about having a disdain for what's popular. Having said that, I thoroughly regret having put this one off for over three years because it is phenomenal in every respect. The competitiveness, the rivalry, the madness, the conpulsive drive to succeed, the obsessive quest for glory - all make for one of the best films I've seen in a while.

I don't know the full real life details between Lauda and Hunt and I know the producers took a lot of creative and artistic license, but it still makes for such an emotionally driven film and it makes both characters so compelling. This is true cinema to me. We need more films like this.

Surprisingly little actually. They played up the rivalry a bit in the film, for dramatic purposes, as apparently they were pretty good friends IRL, though as the film depicts, very different in character.🐭

The characters of Lauda and Hunt were a little flat imho. Lauda was only obsessive, and Hunt was only a partyboy. I'd like them both to have had a little more complexity.

..NOT plain Hollywood - with this one;-P
