I would probably have been satisfied with any single story. (Spoilers)

I liked this film. I thought the acting was good and the story built up tension nicely. What I liked is that either of the main stories we saw (the guy getting his junkie best friend well, the mysterious artifacts that kept showing up) would have been good on their own. Then we have different subplots (the junkies looking for their drugs, the indians coming back in 4 days, the weird cultists, the Frenchmen in the trailer and his dog) that were all great tales weaving through the main plot.

I think this really makes the point of this "story" about stories so well done. It just subtly breaks the fourth wall and I liked that as the viewer, one is actually part of the stories being watched. So you can't just coast through (or you're going to have a bad time) or you'll be missing out on what really becomes the point of the movie: telling a story.

The ending was cut short in my opinion, but I'm not sure how to do it better.

Yeah, I saw it on Netflix last night and their description just mentions the story about the guy trying to get his friend clean. It didn't mention any of the rest and that was good because when the weirdness started and the other stuff unfolded I was totally surprised by it all. I think it would have ruined the fun if the description had mentioned the other stuff and you're right any one of them would have been a great movie and together they're even better. :) It's rare in the information age to find a movie that can surprise you and this one did.

You hit it on the head there. Had I known all that other stuff was going to happen, it would have made the film less enjoyable. Great point.
