Blatant The Cabin In The Woods Rip-Off

Don't waste your time. This movie sucks. Sure, there is some appeal with the actors and they do seem to genuinely connect but the movie as a whole just plain sucks. It is extremely slow paced. When the paranormal stuff begins to happen it's few and far between. There is no explanation as to what is going on or why certain people do what they do in the film. The ending is so absurdly ridiculous that it makes you question, "What the hell did I just watch?". Seriously. Watch The Cabin in Woods instead. It's a far superior telling of this type of story.

This is nothing like TCITW except that it's in a cabin. In the woods.

LOL. Yes. It has absolutely, positively nothing to do with TCITW except for the fact that it's a cabin in the woods and for that small fact that the ending reveals it to be the a carbon copy of TCITW in the sense that the monster is us. So I have no idea where all these people get that it's a rip off of TCITW. It clearly is not.

More like a 'rip-off' of Caché, it's really very little like Cabin in the Woods, only a single aspect of the ending is similar, in 'Cabin' the monster is 100% real but can be seen as a metaphor for the audience. In Resolution the monster is literally the audience.

Interesting considering the fact that Resolution was released in January of 2012 and Cabin In The Woods was released in March of 2012.

And the fact that they are nothing alike except for both being about people living in a cabin in the woods, which of course have never been seen in movies before 2012.

While I love Resolution and despise TCITW the truth of the matter is TCITW had significant problems with post-production and distribution. It sat on studio shelves for a year or 2 in limbo.

Disagreed. It's a *beep* movie, but not a CITW ripoff. CIPW was tongue-in-cheek, explained why things happen in horror the way they do, but Resolution is not tongue-in-cheek at all. It plays it straight. And fails.

Cabin in the Woods was good. This one was weird and had no point to it. Its like someone wrote the script and decided to go do something else about 3/4 of the way through, then had Miley Cyrus take over without a clue how story structure is supposed to work. No ending even. In fact, the entire movie is a huge plot hole.
