Short review (spoiler free) - one of the year's most engaging + flawless

Gosh this has to be one of the most beautifully shot films I have ever seen, as in REALLY REALLY *beep* gorgeous. Everything from the costumes to the "classic suspense film" cinematography and the exceptional colour palette.

Every scene is filled with tension and the film is basically a suspenseful play-off between the three main characters. Mortensen, Dunst and Isaaac are all at the top of their game and carry the film effortlessly. It's just a really handsome, tight and flawless film about three fascinating characters caught up in a dangerous situation. Really has that old-school, classy film-noir thriller feel and look to it.

I agree a wonderful film, intelligent script and beautifully shot, I felt the same about the Ninth Gate and Orlando every frame like a painting

"If you gentlemen dont mind I'd rather not spend the rest of this Winter tied to this beep chair"!

I've just seen it and I agree - and the music was brilliant, too. Everyone involved was top notch, with some truly tense moments, and a wonderful twist at the end.
Made so much richer by the layers of Greek myth, too, and of course Cretan legend.

Well worth a trip to the cinema.
