Significance of the Title?

Can anyone explain? Does it mean something in the book? I just assumed it was Colette's real name since the movie doesn't seem to be filmed in Winter and no characters seem to be named January.

I'm left wondering this, too. Loved the movie, no idea what the title means.

I figured that January is named after the god with two faces, Janus. Wiki goes on to say that it refers to the "janus flux-like nature of the protagonists' in this story.

I should have thought of that. Seems so obvious now you mention it... Janus. They are leading a double life. Maybe it has another meaning in the book.
